I know training your puppy dog to sit up is one of the first tricks to teach and forms the groundwork. In addition to train a dog to sit up, prepare some pooch treats as a reward, and set your dog. For instance he cannot fall either backward or sideways and has little or no space to lose balance.
I know you must keep a dog from pitching forward by holding one hand under chin. Most importantly the other hand hold the canine treat above nose. In addition you must keep repeating distinctly and deliberately say, “sit up.” Besides do not make a dog sit up too long at any one time. I know you must repeat the lesson frequently and rewards often with plentiful of praise and puppy treats.
Above all else during his first lesson he will require considerable assistance. I know you must hold your hand to prevent a dog from pitching forward. For instance as he gets control of the balancing muscles and understands what you want. I know he will depend less upon your hand to keep him in position. For example you can gradually render him less assistance until you will only have to keep one hand in position. Best of all by keeping your hand inches from his chin, to be ready to prevent the dog pitching forward. I know later on you can withdraw this hand entirely and hold the pet treat just above his head.
Best of all by constant practice he will sit up after you set up. I know by then he should be set up against the wall, so as to afford him a support for his back only. Besides puppy canine training your dog the “sit up” trick and most importantly have fun along the way!
